Welcome to JobJolt. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the JobJolt website, application, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by JobJolt ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have consent from a parent or guardian.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. Description of Service

JobJolt is an AI-powered career assistant that helps you create tailored resumes, cover letters, and manage your job search. The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze job postings and generate application materials. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed for accuracy before use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law.
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person in application materials.
  • Use the Service to generate spam, phishing, or fraudulent content.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

5. Subscription & Payments

JobJolt offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service (resumes, profile data, job descriptions, etc.). By uploading content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models.

7. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by our AI (resumes, cover letters, fit analyses) is provided for your personal use. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and using any AI-generated content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated output. AI suggestions should not be treated as professional career advice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its design, code, features, and branding — is owned by JobJolt and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or proprietary technology beyond what is needed to use the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOBJOLT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JobJolt and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, you may request export of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitations of liability) will survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which JobJolt operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
